Welcome
Lancaster Looking Forward, the city’s comprehensive plan, will guide how Lancaster will grow and meet coming challenges over the next 20-plus years. Planning began in 2023 with a broad citizen survey and a steering committee comprised of city council members and citizen stakeholders.
A draft plan is now complete and is undergoing review by city staff and the consultant team. The current schedule calls for a review by the Planning and Zoning Commission, then a workshop with City Council, and a final vote on adoption early in 2025.
A final plan will be posted here and on the city’s website. Meanwhile, you can learn more about the data, trends, community opinions, and professional land planning ideas that are shaping the plan. Presentations from every meeting of the Steering Committee are available here, along with results of the community survey and town halls.
